General practice - or Family Medicine as it is known in other parts of the world - is not limited by age, gender, body system or disease process. It includes prevention, screening, detection, risk assessment, harm reduction, early intervention and management of acute and chronic medical conditions. A General Practitioner also coordinates multidisciplinary collaboration across multiple medical and allied health specialties to deliver integrated patient care and achieve optimal health outcomes.
Dr Jenny assists her patients by empowering them with knowledge to take ownership of their health, in order to make beneficial change and build resilience. Her approach is thorough, proactive and personalised. She practices evidence-based medicine and is passionate about supporting patients in improving their health. Dr Jenny regularly attends clinical update meetings and conferences throughout the year and does professional development self-directed learning activities to stay up-to-date.

Types of Services
Baby’s Health
Taking your baby to their first medical check-up can feel exciting and overwhelming. From routine immunisations and milestone reviews to concerning symptoms and unexpected illnesses, a gentle unhurried attention is given to babies and their caregivers. Dr Jenny will provide clear explanation and trustworthy resources for parents, as well as ample opportunity for follow-up.
Children’s Health
Being a child is tricky with so much growing to do physically, mentally, socially, and emotionally! It is always worthwhile to bring your child in for a review if you have any concerns about how they are doing. Dr Jenny is happy to navigate through the “daycare germs”, listen to concerning symptoms or behaviours that have become difficult to manage, suggest when to consider (and then organise) investigations and make referrals to appropriate specialists.
Women’s Health
The wonderful wonders of women’s bodies can seem so mysterious sometimes. Dr Jenny works with women to listen and understand their experience within their individual and wider context.
Some of Dr Jenny’s beliefs are:
Nobody should have to put up with painful periods (having periods is an option, actually!)
All females receive good quality sexual health checks at regular intervals
Reproductive health literacy is important, across different cultures and societies
Routine screening specific to female bodies is worth the hassle - book in that cervical cancer screening test and breast cancer screening.
Common disease (e.g. cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis) need to be interpreted with the female bodies in mind - as in women may have different symptoms/ levels of risks compared to men
Dr Jenny provides pre-conception counselling, first medical appointment after finding out that you are pregnant, non-directive pregnancy counselling, and post-partum care. She does not provide routine antenatal care (e.g. GP obstetric shared care) but is happy to see pregnant women at any stage with any medical concerns - related to pregnancy or not.
Men’s Health
It is unfair that the male sex is a risk factor for many chronic medical conditions. Fortunately there are modifiable risk factors that can be explored and actioned so that your risk of preventative illness remains as low as possible. You may be experiencing common but often not-discussed concerns amongst men such as urinary symptoms, sexual health difficulties, mental health symptoms and alcohol use disorder. Prostate-related conditions are another common source of anxiety among men and can be addressed with an in-depth assessment.
Don’t hold back. Dr Jenny enjoys working with male patients to make sense of their bodies and make changes that create a ripple effect in their lives.
Mental Health
Mental health includes emotional, psychological and social well-being. It is important at every stage of life and is intricately linked to our physical health. People can carry misunderstanding or misinformation about mental health and the subsequent stigma can prevent them from seeking and receiving appropriate help.
Dr Jenny invites you to tell your story and ask questions. If you don’t know what to say, let her help you explore your feelings and find the direction that you want to head in.
Mental health consults are usually 30+ minutes long and require multiple appointments for appropriate assessment and formation of management plan. This may include GP Mental Health Care Plan, which allows you up to 10 individual and 10 group Medicare-rebated sessions with a mental health professional each calendar year.
