HealthDirect
Free, 24 hour, 7 days a week service for medical advice. You will speak to a registered nurse who can provide advice, or connect you to a GP for a free telehealth service.
You can use online symptom checker or call 1800 022 222.
If you have a hearing or speech impairment, call the National Relay Service on 1800 555 677 and ask to be transferred to HealthDirect.
If English is not your main language and you need an interpreter, call TIS National on 131 450 and ask to be transferred to HealthDirect.Medicare Urgent Care Clinic
When you need urgent but not life-threatening medical care (and your GP is unavailable), you can access bulk-billed assessment on walk-in basis at Medicare Urgent Care Clinics.
There are now 6 locations around Adelaide: Elizabeth, Marion, Para Hills, Morphett Vale, Mount Gambier, Old Port Road.

Free, private and confidential, telephone and online counselling service for young people aged between 5 and 25.Child and Adolescent Virtual Urgent Care Service (Women’s and Children’s Hospital)
This is a virtual medical service that provides urgent assessment and advice to children aged 6 months to 17 years.
The service operates 9:00 am to 9:00 pm, 7 days a week.

Early Pregnancy Unit (at Women’s and Children’s Hospital)
For women between 6 and 14 weeks pregnant who are experiencing some bleeding and have minimal pain. Appointments are encouraged. Please see website for more details.Women’s Assessment Service (at Women’s and Children’s Hospital)

Staffed by midwives, women who are less than 20 weeks pregnant with urgent concerns can access this virtual service 7 days a week 8 am to 4 pm.
